Bosnia Pyramids and stupid stunts

A while ago I was reading in the news about the startling discovery of a massive pyramid that was discovered in Bosnia. They were reputed to be the only European pyramids ever found. I found it all to be terribly fascinating, and I gobbled up the news story with interest.

Well, I should have known that when the story came over the AP wire it should have been questionable. However, when I read about the 'pyramids' in an article from the archaeological institute of America, another story emerges that was not mentioned in the AP. Turns out the man who made the 'discovery', Semir Osmanagic, has been actively pursuing 'chariots of the gods' style of archeology for the past 15 years. For those not familiar with chariots of the gods, it's the idea that aliens have been visiting and developing human cultures (if not humans themselves) for thousands of years. Furthermore he believes that the inhabitants of the Bosnia 'pyramid' were a direct offshoot of people from the lost city of Atlantis, and they held some super-culture in Bosnia some 12,000 years ago.

Reputable archeologist scoff at the idea because 12,000 years ago that area was cold and rocky and still had glaciers on most of it. If anyone lived there they were primitive hunter gathers who, at best, lived in a flimsy mud hut. They were literally cavemen. By comparison, Stonehenge was believed to have been made around 3,000 BC.

Then again, who knows, maybe everyone is wrong and dwelling in that hill in Bosnia are ancient humans with brains the size of engine blocks locked in a million year old game of hyperspatial brain-chess. One day that dude will be digging with a shovel and will poke a hole into their chambers. Annoyed, they will hiss at the sunlight and use their brainpowers to make the guys head explode.

Speaking of aliens and human evolution, I have been reading a (fiction) book 'the galactic bus' that is about a couple of highly advanced aliens who got stuck on earth. Bored and with nothing better to do, they create the human race. It's been a fun book so far, but one line in there stuck out at me. The aliens claimed all humans were insane, they said this was the direct result of possessing a brain that can conceive the concept of eternity, yet being trapped in a mortal body. It's something to think about.

I watched a rather scary video online last night. Apparently there is a world record for bike speed, something like 100 mph. Some guy was trying to beat this record. So He hops on his bike and rides it down a very long hill. Halfway down his bike simply disintegrates. He seems to live, but he has to be fucked up pretty bad.

That must have been a horrid feeling, to be shooting along at hide speed and suddenly your bike just comes apart. It happens so fast he probably had no idea what happened until they shook the dust off of him.

Watched ghost hunters last night. It was an 'eh' episode.
